Truth about E-Cigarettes
It is time to cast light upon electronic cigarettes and find out the full truth about them. In short, electronic cigarettes don’t have the ability to help quit smoking. Because e-cig is a simple substitute for regular cigarette or in other words one dangerous substitute for another the same dangerous device.
WHO is concerned about the fact that e-cigarettes are promoted as the device to help people stop smoking, while till present there are no evidences proving this fact.
Some of WHO concerns about electronic-cigarettes:
- These cigarettes are produced in a completely different manner than traditional means used to help quit smoking, such as nicotine patches and gum alternatives.
- Manufactured in various flavors as strawberry, chocolate, and even coffee. This may attract non-smokers and children to purchase e-cigs only for their flavor.
For example in Hong Kong is imposed a fine in amount of $100,000 HK upon possession of an e-cigarette or a sentence to two-year jail. E-cigarettes were not approved by the FDA, because they consider them a dangerous method to stop smoking due to liquids used in them and the last but not the least the unrealizable hopes it gives to consumers.
Also a big concern is related to battery, because e-cigs are dependent on it and may present problems to heavy smokers, as when e-cig runs out of battery power, it becomes ineffective. In comparison with natural therapies such as vitamins and hypnosis.
Nicotine that is contained in e-cigarettes is still a drug, whatever makers of these cigarettes state. E-cigarettes were even prohibited in Australia, because of fear that these cigarettes may extend the nicotine addiction.
E- Cigarettes besides nicotine also contain the following ingredients:
- Propene Glycol, which may be the reason of gastrointestinal irritation.
- Tobacco essence, which only makes people more addicted to cigarettes.
- Tetramethylpyrazine, which proved to cause brain damage from long-term exposure.
That is why try to avoid e-cigarettes, as they will not help you quit smoking. If you are still thinking to buy it, read the following points.
- E-cigarettes have never been approved by the FDA for use as a substitute for nicotine.
- E-cigarettes producers do not present any documentary proof given by the FDA that their products are reliable form of tobacco cessation.
- It is not known exactly how e-cigs are supposed to help people stop smoking.
While E-Cigarettes manufacturers state that they produce 100% innocuous, non-toxic flavor, you may observe that for some reason e-cig looks like a traditional cigarette and even produces the same toxic and harmful substances. This probably should be the most evident indicator for potential consumers.
Now it depends on you, to choose e-cigarettes as a method of tobacco cessation or not.
